Olade and CEM agree to cooperate in the promotion and strengthening of clean energy development

The Latin American Energy Organization (Olade) and Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate jointly in promoting and strengthening sustainable energy development worldwide.

CEM is an association of 29 of the world’s leading governments, which brings together international companies and experts with the mission of accelerating the transition to clean energy.

The document was signed by Olade’s executive secretary, Alfonso Blanco, and the head of the Secretariat of CEM, Dan Dorner, during the Ministerial Roundtable Power System Transformation, which took place on September 22, 2022, within the framework of the Global Clean Energy Forum, held in Pittsburgh, USA. In this mission, the Executive Secretary, Alfonso Blanco, also made an approach between Uruguay and the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) for future actions.

Memorandum of Understanding

The memorandum established that cooperation between Olade and CEM will focus mainly on the following areas:

– Sustainable and clean energy linked to electric mobility, green hydrogen, renewable energy, smart grids, digitization of energy systems, carbon pricing, energy efficiency and decarbonization of industries.

– Knowledge exchange;

– Capacity building;

– Joint training courses, workshops and seminars;

– Implementation programs and initiatives.
