Andrés Rebolledo, Executive Secretary of OLADE participated in “Expo Energy Peru 2023”.

The executive secretary of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), Andrés Rebolledo, actively participated in the eleventh edition of “Expo Energy Peru 2023”, held in Lima on June 26 and 27. This outstanding event brought together leaders from the international electricity sector to address the challenges and opportunities present in the current energy landscape.

“Expo Energy Peru 2023” brought together more than 55 expert speakers on various topics related to the power industry. The event addressed key issues such as the reform and improvement of the Peruvian power sector, the challenges of electricity regulation in the region, the development of power distribution, sustainability practices, power transmission, renewable energies and the inclusion of the innovative BESS energy storage system in the Peruvian market, among others.

OLADE’s executive secretary, Andrés Rebolledo, spoke about the future of energy in Latin America and its transitions. He emphasized the importance of the energy transition towards a sustainable vision and highlighted that Latin America and the Caribbean are making progress in the development of a more sustainable energy sector, with a smaller footprint, which will place them in a better position in the world.

Rebolledo stressed that there is great potential in Latin America and the Caribbean to make progress towards integration. The long-term vision is crucial for energy integration. We need to look beyond the terms of one, two or three governments. We must have a State vision.

This event was an exchange of knowledge and experiences that provided a space for the exchange of information, business generation and the establishment of strategic alliances.
