The Executive Secretary of Olade carried out official missions in the region to define and strengthen joint strategies with the Member Countries

The first week of September 2019, the Executive Secretary of the Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), Alfonso Blanco, carried out official missions to Mexico, Argentina, Paraguay and Panama, with the aim of strengthening and defining joint work strategies with the Member Countries of the Organization.

In Paraguay, he participated in the workshop on “The importance of a robust institutional framework for the transformation of the energy sector”, a space whose main focus was to know and take advantage of the regional experiences of other countries in the field of energy. This meeting was organized by the Vice Ministry of Mines and Energies of Paraguay with the support of Olade and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

In his mission to Buenos Aires-Argentina, Olade’s Executive Secretary, Alfonso Blanco, was part of the energy integration dialogue table of the Southern Cone-SieSur, an initiative promoted by Olade, IDB and the Regional Energy Integration Commission (CIER) . The Secretary of Energy of Argentina, Gustavo Lopetegui, participated in this activity.

During his mission in Mexico, the Executive Secretary of Olade held a meeting with the General Director of the National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy of Mexico (CONUEE), Odón de Buen.

This mission agenda culminated in Panama, with a meeting with the Secretary of Energy, Jorge Rivera, where it was agreed to continue providing mutual support between institutions to strengthen the energy sector making it safer and more reliable.
