OLADE participated in the Regional Cooperation Seminar: Developing Quality Infrastructure for Photovoltaic Energy Generation.

OLADE participated in the “Seminar on Regional Cooperation: Developing Quality Infrastructure for Photovoltaic Energy Generation”, with the presentation “Dissemination platforms as tools and resources for issues related to the Quality Infrastructure”. The Seminar was held in Santiago de Chile on September 13th through 15th, 2017.

Alejandro Espín, the Energy and Climate Change Specialist of OLADE, presented the information, networking, capacity building, information and documentation systems that OLADE possesses and that are available to the Latin America and the Caribbean countries.

This event, which was sponsored by IRENA, PTB, COPANT, IAAC, OAS, SIM, CORFO Committee, Solar Energy Program and the collaboration of OLADE, IEC and CORNELEC, aimed at strengthening the regional capacities of the technical bodies , and improve skills in regulation, standardization and quality infrastructure, with the intention of integrating and facilitating the development of renewable energies and energy efficiency in the region.

During the course of the seminar, large-scale projects developed in Chile, Spain, Laboratories in Brazil, Colombia and the United States were taken as success stories. This space was also used to analyze issues such as licensing for installers, the market for photovoltaic systems, energy policy, regulation, banking, standards and equipment testing, metrology, certification, inspection, tools and resources in the field.

The presentations made by the experts and the work done in the group workshops during the conference of the event, will pay off in the development of methodologies and models for the improvement of the regulation and regulation of photovoltaic systems in the region.
