March 8 International Women’s Day

Women in Latin America and the Caribbean do not have the same opportunities as men, including in the energy sector. This is a reality on which we must think about.

Girls and women are the most displaced in terms of access to energy in our region. That is why we need to work to close these gaps between men and women, creating immediate actions that promote greater participation of women in decision-making processes and in the implementation of energy sector transitions and also promoting universal access to energy.

We must build an inclusive and diverse vision and agenda, integrating women in all decision-making processes. We must give women the possibility of having universal access to modern sources of energy, which allow them to improve thier education, health and living conditions. Women are the main agents of change, they are the promoters of the energy transition and the care of the environment.

On this day of reflection, we greet all the women of Latin America and the Caribbean and we encourage all the leaders of this transformation to continue claiming and fighting for equal rights.
