The LATAM Energy Transition Academy 2024 opens its virtual doors to train future leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean in the fight for equitable and sustainable energy development.
The Latin America and the Caribbean Energy Transition Academy (ATE LATAM) will conduct its virtual training program from September 26 to November 14, 2024. The Institute of International Studies of the University of Chile (IEI) will award a certificate of participation.
This initiative is organized by the NGO Uno.Cinco, the IEI, and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE).
The event will feature prominent figures and authorities from the energy sector in Latin America, as well as representatives of international organizations related to the sector. ATE LATAM invites young professionals from across the region and civil society to be part of this free program, focused on developing technical and theoretical capacities on energy transition.
The Academy, aimed at preparing future leaders of Latin America and the Caribbean in sustainable energy and climate action, will offer an intensive program of 8 sessions. Topics to be addressed include: i) energy literacy, ii) just transition, iii) energy efficiency, and iv) the role of critical minerals in the energy transition.
Additionally, the courses will be globally accessible thanks to their virtual format and will feature simultaneous translation in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
This project aims to prepare participants for the process of updating the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) of the countries in the region, in anticipation of COP30, which will be held in Brazil in 2025.
