The workshop to present the proposal for a system of Measurement, Report and Verification for energy audits in public and commercial buildings

Specialists from the Dominican Republic’s energy sector met, on September 5, 2019, at the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) to participate in the workshop for the presentation of the proposal for a system of Measurement, Report and Verification (MRV) for energy audits in public and commercial buildings. This workshop is part of the activities of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Efficiency Program (PALCEE) phase III.

This meeting, which was organized by the MEM of the Dominican Republic and the Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), was attended by the Vice Minister of Energy, Petrouschka Muñoz and 25 specialists from the country’s energy sector, who received the proposal for a roadmap for the implementation of a Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system for energy efficiency in public and commercial buildings in the Dominican Republic, a proposal prepared by the consulting firm SEG Ingeniería.

Byron Chiliquinga, Olade Consultant, presented the PALCEE Project in the Dominican Republic, the gender considerations in energy projects and the work carried out by the Organization in energy efficiency and climate change.

At the end of the workshop the participants discussed the MRV proposal and concluded with some topics, including the analysis of the systematization of energy information; policies and programs for the promotion of audits and Energy Efficiency in the public and commercial sector, among others.
