Last July 19th , the Executive Secretary held a meeting with key authorities of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), Jonas Moberg, Chief of the EITI Secretariat, and Francisco Paris, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean . The purpose of the meeting was to exchange information on EITI and OLACDE’s activities, in order to evaluate future collaborative actions such as: EITI participation as an observer at the next XLVII Meeting of Ministers and part of the XII Regional Energy Integration Forum(FIER ) to be held in December in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and its presence in other important regional events. Another relevant point that was agreed upon was participation in the development of technical documents on lessons learned, as well as continued support in the implementation of the EITI to the Latin America and the Caribbean countries.
