Academic forum on 200 years of diplomatic relations between Chile and Colombia.

On November 21, the Academic Forum “200 Years of Diplomatic Relations Chile – Colombia” was held within the framework of the 200th anniversary of the ties between the two countries. The event concluded with an important activity held at the San Carlos Palace in the Colombian capital, organized by the Embassy of Chile in Colombia, in collaboration with the Colombian Foreign Ministry, the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), the Universidad de los Andes of Bogota and the Diplomatic Academy of Colombia Augusto Ramirez Ocampo.

During the day and as a closing of this commemoration, the presentation of two panels of relevant current events was held. In the first, dedicated to Feminist Foreign Policy, we had the participation of Elizabeth Taylor, Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs of Colombia; Diana Parra, Coordinator of Feminist Foreign Policy in the Colombian Foreign Ministry; and Antonia Urrejola, former Foreign Minister of Chile.

The second panel, focused on the Energy Transition, was attended by the Executive Secretary of OLADE, Andrés Rebolledo, and academics from the University of Los Andes. In this segment, the energy challenges in both countries were analyzed, as well as the main challenges for the public and private sectors in this area.

In his speech, the Executive Secretary of OLADE emphasized that “the energy transformation, in addition to providing greater sustainability, has a positive effect from the point of view of economic impact, acting as an incentive to attract investment. It is an element of competitiveness and a fundamental contribution to economic growth and development. ”
