A Framework Agreement was entered into between the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and OLADE this April 2017. The aim is to establish bilateral joint cooperation actions in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the Agreement.
IICA is the International Specialized Agency on Agriculture of the Inter-American System. It has a trajectory of 75 years of institutional life, whose mission is to “Stimulate, promote and support the efforts of the Member States to achieve their agricultural development and rural well-being through international technical cooperation of excellence.”
The purpose of the Framework Agreement is to establish collaborative bases to share information, knowledge and joint actions focused on the development, research and implementation of programs related to energy, agriculture and the sustainable management of natural resources (water, land, Forestry, biodiversity, knowledge and human talent).
Among the actions contemplated are: Cooperation for the design, structuring and development of programs and projects, exchange of technical information and good practices, reciprocal invitation to institutional events organized by the parties, technical assistance in the areas of competence and interest of the parties, advice in the analysis and definition of regulatory frameworks, among others.
