The I Meeting of Ministers of Energy of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC in Spanish) was held on Lima, Peru on November 16th, 2012, with the presidency of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru and the coordination of the President pro tempore (PPT) of CELAC, the Government of Chile. The presence of 21 delegations from the 27 Member Countries and the representative of OLADE's participating country (Algeria), as well as observers from various international organizations, cooperation agencies, financial institutions and business associations got together in the preparatory session of the Meeting of Ministers of OLADE. The VII Regional Energy Integration Forum, FIER 2012, organized by the Latin American Energy Organization, OLADE, and the Energy and Mines Ministry of Peru took place in Lima. The event counted with the attendance of 125 participants from 17 Member Countries (MC) of OLADE.

One of the main tasks of the Sub-Regional Office of the Latin American Energy Organization, OLADE, in the Caribbean, installed in August, in Kingston, Jamaica, is to collaborate on the definition of a Sub-regional Energy Agenda. This agenda should set objectives, priorities and lines of action consistent with the needs and policies of the Member Countries in the Sub-region (Barbados, Cuba, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago).

The III Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum took place on Saint Kitts and Nevis on September 13 and 14.
