The Latin American Energy Organization, OLADE has announced the next official release of the Simulation and Analysis Model of the Energy Mix, SAME, which aims to provide a comprehensive and executive overview of the benefits that sustainable energy policies imply to the improvement of the energy – economic and environmental indicators in a country or region in the medium to long term.

The Latin American Energy Organization, OLADE, held in Costa Rica, from March 4 to 7 2013, the First Dialogue /Workshop on Gender and Power in the Central America, as part of the cooperation project with CIDA.

OLADE, with support from the Canadian Cooperation held several national workshops on "Challenges, Opportunities and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)" in Nicaragua (February 19), Honduras (February 28) and Guatemala (March 6). The aim of the workshops was to promote dialogue, exchange of information and receive input from different national stakeholders for the preparation of a national strategy to leverage corporate social responsibility in the energy sector of the three Member Countries.

Today the Permanent Secretariat of OLADE has decreed three days of institutional mourning ( March 6, 7 and 8, 2013) and the staff paid tribute to the memory of President Chavez .

The Organization expresses its deepest condolences on the death of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez Frias, and manifest its deepest sympathy to the Venezuelan people and Government, as well as to the relatives of the President due to the deep sadness whichs is felt as a sentiment of general desolation in Latin America and the Caribbean and the rest of the world.
