In May 2024, energy inflation in Latin America and the Caribbean (IE-LAC) reached a monthly rate of 0.52% and an annual rate of 3.07%, showing a downward trend in most of the countries analyzed. This figure is lower than the region’s general inflation rate of 4.02%. In contrast, energy inflation in OECD countries rose significantly to 2.5% annually, its highest level since February 2023. The report includes data from 20 countries, offering an updated and detailed picture of energy market behavior in the region and its economic impact.
