European Union – Latin America Energy Agenda

As part of the European Union’s incorporation as a permanent observer member of OLADE, we present this document highlighting the energy exchanges between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean, along with the future challenges that lie ahead.

In this context, energy cooperation between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean stands as a vital strategic alliance in a global landscape marked by geopolitical uncertainties and growing environmental challenges.

Both regions face the urgent need to diversify their energy sources, strengthen energy security, and accelerate the transition to renewable energy—safeguarding sustainable development and economic stability in the process.

This document highlights the importance of strengthening cooperation to boost energy efficiency, promote regional integration, and jointly address the challenges posed by climate change and the volatility of energy markets, among other key areas of shared interest.
