December 2024
Report No. 10 Energy Inflation in Latin America and the Caribbean (IE-LAC)

Energy inflation in Latin America and the Caribbean in December 2024 was 1.51%, significantly lower than the region’s overall inflation rate of 4.03%. This moderate growth, lower than that seen in OECD countries (3.82%), highlights the region’s resilience to international price hikes, supported by its renewable energy resources and regulatory measures that have helped control energy costs, despite drought conditions that impacted power generation and fuel availability throughout the year.
