In August 2024, energy inflation in Latin America and the Caribbean saw its largest drop of the year, with a monthly rate of 0.2% and an annual rate of 3.36%. This decline is mainly attributed to a 7% drop in oil prices between July and August, positively impacting 12 of the 20 countries analyzed in the region. These results reflect a downward trend since February and underscore the importance of energy prices in the regional economy.
