The Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) took part in the Argentina Hydrocarbons Congress, organized by Vostock Capital, which brought together government authorities, companies, and energy experts to discuss the region’s market developments and opportunities.
During the panel “Argentina Midstream Infrastructure: Transport, Export, and Energy Integration”, Ivo Nacucchio, consultant for OLADE, presented updates on the Regional Gas Integration Project for Mercosur + Chile, a joint initiative developed by OLADE and CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, aimed at strengthening energy cooperation and coordinated regional planning.
In his presentation, Nacucchio explained that the region’s gas production capacity significantly exceeds internal demand, and that the project seeks to analyze supply and demand scenarios, evaluate infrastructure and transport alternatives, and provide comparable, up-to-date technical information to guide investment and public policy decisions.
He also emphasized that the project’s purpose is to promote regulatory convergence and prioritize new integration works that will contribute to a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable gas infrastructure for the region’s energy development.
