At the headquarters of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), the National Workshop on Building Women in Energy Networks – Ecuador was held, an initiative promoted by OLADE in collaboration with the Women in Energy Association (AME).
During the opening, OLADE’s Executive Secretary, Andrés Rebolledo, highlighted the need to incorporate gender equity as a cross-cutting axis in public policies and corporate management within the energy sector.
Gloria Alvarenga, OLADE’s Director of Integration, Access and Energy Security, stressed: “To break down barriers, we must ensure that women’s voices and experiences are an integral part of every decision.”
In turn, Pía Suárez, President of AME, emphasized that the workshop seeks to build networks from civil society, in coordination with both the public and private sectors, adding: “We are not only here to share successes, but also mistakes, so that each country can advance from its own experience. This space is designed to talk, share, and build together.”
With this workshop, OLADE reaffirms its commitment to inclusion, female leadership, and the creation of collaborative networks that strengthen women’s participation in the energy transition across Latin America and the Caribbean.
