Report N° 24 Energy Inflation for Latin America and the Caribbean (EI- LAC)

Due to internal economic adjustments in Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries and the rise in international oil prices caused by global tensions surrounding an impending conflict in the Middle East, the region’s monthly energy inflation rose by 0.19% in February 2026, after registering a deflation of -0.11% in January of the same year. Thus, in February, 13 of the 20 LAC countries analyzed showed positive energy inflation, and the price of WTI crude oil increased by 8.76% compared to the previous month.
