April 2025
Report No. 14 Energy Inflation in Latin America and the Caribbean (IE-LAC)

Energy inflation in Latin America and the Caribbean registered a monthly increase of 0.17% in April 2025, driven by significant rises in 11 countries in the region. However, over the past year, the annual rate decreased to 1.32%, influenced by falling international oil prices. Despite this annual decline, overall inflation shows a slight upward trend, reflecting the regional economic dynamic and the need for public policies that balance international prices with energy sector development.
