September 2024
Report No. 7 Energy Inflation in Latin America and the Caribbean (IE-LAC)

In September 2024, energy inflation in Latin America and the Caribbean continued its downward trend, with a negative monthly inflation rate of -0.10% and an annual rate of 1.62%, driven mainly by a 6% drop in oil prices compared to August. This contrasts with OECD countries, where energy inflation remains negative and has declined in most member states, amid a general global decrease in energy prices. These results reflect important changes in energy markets with direct impacts on the regional economy.
