The EUEI PDF -Service for Partnership Dialogue for the EU- Energy Initiative sent a letter of approval to OLADE – The Latin American Energy Organization – that certifies the support for a joint project to assess the commitments on climate change for the Latin America and the Caribbean countries.
The aim of the project is to carry out a prospective study of the regional energy sector with emphasis on the electricity subsector, for a horizon of 25 years with 2015 as its base year. It proposes expansion strategies based on sustainability criteria in order to contribute to reducing the causes and effects of climate change. This will be done with high levels of reliability and sustainability for different scenarios.
The EUEI PDF offers its services through four strategic lines and currently receives contributions from the EC, Austria, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
To conduct this study, an execution period of 7 months (tentatively between May and December 2017) is estimated.
