Under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Latin American Energy Organization -OLADE and the International Agency for Renewable Energies -IRENA- in 2012, a coordination and strengthening cooperation meeting was held on March 2, 2017 between the two organizations.
Among the main issues addressed during the virtual meeting are the exchanging of experiences and specialists, harmonization of energy information, exchange of data and statistics, support to the strengthening of energy information systems, development tools, projects, events and training programs in renewable energy, among others.
In a remarkable desire for mutual cooperation, both parties expressed interest in developing joint regional programs, and agreed to work on a joint roadmap to make progress in the region.
