The Technological University of Uruguay has an 11 kW photovoltaic system as part of the ETRELA project activities

The Technological University of Uruguay in the city of Durazno has an 11 kW photovoltaic system connected to the grid, a system that includes an installation of 40 solar panels, of 275 Wp each, at two locations: on the roof (20) and on structures mounted on the ground (20). This system will benefit the processes of education and training of professionals, technicians and students in the region on renewable energy, as part of the activities carried out by the ETRELA project.

Through the ETRELA project, the acquisition of equipment, specialized software and computer equipment for solar photovoltaic, thermal and wind energy is contemplated for the Demonstration Centers of the three participating universities: University of Buenos Aires (UBA), National University of Engineering of the Peru (UNI) and the Technological University of Uruguay (UTEC).

According to what is planned within the framework of the project, it is expected that all the Demonstration Centers of the UBA, UNI and UTEC will be enabled prior to starting with the face-to-face courses called ¨Train the Trainers¨, a training module that is expected to start in September 2020.

During the installation process of the 11 kW photovoltaic system, at the Technological University of Uruguay, the students had the opportunity to participate and understand in a practical way the work being carried out for the commissioning of a solar photovoltaic system.
