OLADE and ITAIPU sign letter of intent to boost energy development in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) and the Binational ITAIPU signed  a letter of intent to enhance energy development in the continent, through projects, research and initiatives related to the sector.

The signing of the document took place within the framework of the agenda of OLADE’s Executive Secretary, Andrés Rebolledo, who was in Paraguay to participate in the 16th International Gas-Energy Forum and to launch the IX Energy Week.

The commitment is to work together in the design and implementation of projects, studies, programs and events related to energy development and integration in Latin America and the Caribbean. As stipulated in the document, OLADE and ITAIPU are committed to working together in the design and implementation of projects, studies, programs and events related to energy development and integration in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Priority areas of cooperation include capacity building, developing a regional data structure, promoting greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, and other complementary aspects.

“Today we begin a path of collaboration with ITAIPU that will allow us to highlight the importance of both hydroelectricity and binational cooperation for the energy development of Latin America/Caribbean,” said OLADE´s Executive Secretary, Andrés Rebolledo.

This letter of intent represents a milestone in the collaboration between OLADE and ITAIPU, laying the foundations for greater integration and sustainable development in the region’s energy sector.
