OLADE, with the support of EUEI PDF(EU Energy Initiative Partnership Dialogue Facility), develops a prospective study of the regional energy sector with an emphasis on the electric subsector for 25 years. This study is aimed at proposing expansion strategies, based on sustainability criteria, that contribute to the reduction of climate change causes and effects, in order to reach the goals established in the NDCs of each country.
For this study, the Latin American and Caribbean Region has been divided into 4 sub-regions and 2 countries: Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Andean Sub-region, Brazil and the Southern Cone.
In order to jointly analyze the premises used in the formulation of the prospective scenarios, with the member countries of each sub-region, a schedule of workshops has been created that begins on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, in the city of Quito, Ecuador and ends on October 2 in the City of Port-Spain.
