OLACDE advanced the Regional Indicative Electricity Interconnection Plan toward 2040, a roadmap designed to strengthen energy integration, enhance security of supply, and boost regional competitiveness through 16 strategic infrastructure projects and progress toward a future Energy Integration Treaty. The newsletter also highlights the III Regional Methane Summit and efforts to strengthen regional cooperation to accelerate a more sustainable energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>On the technical front, OLACDE reports that the region continues to have one of the cleanest electricity mixes in the world, with 67.7% of electricity generation coming from renewable sources, while making progress in diversifying non-conventional energy sources and recording growth in oil and natural gas production.
