The \u201cManta Energy 2025: Energy Horizons\u201d forum, held at the Hotel Oro Verde, brought together representatives from business, academia and civil society to discuss the challenges and opportunities of Ecuador\u2019s energy system from a territorial perspective.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organized by the Universidad UTE and its Social and Energy-Mining Innovation Laboratory (LSIEM), in collaboration with the Manta Business Chamber, and supported by OLACDE, AEREE, and leading companies and institutions in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>UTE stood out as a pioneering institution, with the aim of creating study and research opportunities for young people in renewable energy, energy efficiency, regulation, and infrastructure management\u2014linking academic practice and applied projects with industry to develop the talent needed for a just energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>Fitzgerald Cantero, Director of Studies, Projects and Information at OLACDE, participated as keynote speaker at \u201cManta Energy 2025: Energy Horizons\u201d, presenting \u201cEnergy Scenarios in the Region\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In his presentation, Cantero highlighted the strategic role of Latin America and the Caribbean in the global energy transition, emphasizing the value of the region\u2019s natural resources, the need for stable public policies, and the importance of advancing in electrification, energy efficiency,
