The Dominican Republic hosted the National Workshop to Strengthen Capacities for Women in Energy Networks, a participatory event organized by The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) and the Women in Energy Association of Chile (AME).<\/p>\n

The workshop brought together women from across the energy sector and various disciplines, with the goal of consolidating a national network that is inclusive, regionally articulated, technically influential, and capable of building strategic alliances. This activity is part of a series of regional initiatives aimed at closing the gender gap in the energy sector.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Gloria Alvarenga, Director of Integration, Access and Energy Security at OLACDE; Alfonso Rodr\u00edguez, Vice Minister of Energy of the Dominican Republic; and P\u00eda Su\u00e1rez, President of AME, who joined the spaces for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collective building.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday we are here in the Dominican Republic with our fourth national Women in Energy Network workshop, as part of a joint effort led by OLACDE together with different associations. This collaborative work drives our gender and energy agenda in the region,\u201d stated Gloria Alvarenga.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Paola Pimentel, President of the Dominican Republic\u2019s Women in Renewable Energy Network, highlighted the importance of these workshops to strengthen dialogue and enhance female visibility in the sector. \u201cWe actively contribute to the country\u2019s energy transition by promoting women\u2019s participation at all levels. These workshops strengthen our network and open opportunities for regional collaboration,\u201d she affirmed.<\/p>\n

The workshop focused on providing concrete tools to strengthen women\u2019s energy networks at the national level, contributing to the construction of a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable energy sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
