Methane Summit of Latin America and the Caribbean 2025<\/strong>, to be held on <strong data-start=\"276\" data-end=\"296\">July 23\u201324, 2025<\/strong>, in <strong data-start=\"301\" data-end=\"315\">Lima, Peru<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"690\">This event, organized by the <strong data-start=\"347\" data-end=\"393\">Latin American Energy Organization (OLACDE)<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong data-start=\"420\" data-end=\"468\">Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM)<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"477\" data-end=\"505\">Global Methane Hub (GMH)<\/strong>, will bring together senior energy officials from the region, international financing institutions, NGOs, academic representatives, chambers, and companies from the oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"692\" data-end=\"1014\">The summit serves as a strategic platform to advance the regional methane emissions reduction agenda, in a climate action context marked by the submission of new <strong data-start=\"854\" data-end=\"900\">Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)<\/strong>, the assessment of the first <strong data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"970\">Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs)<\/strong>, and the return of <strong data-start=\"990\" data-end=\"999\">COP30<\/strong> to the region.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1016\" data-end=\"1389\">Over the course of two days, high-level representatives from governments, multilateral organizations, energy companies, academic institutions, and technical experts will come together to exchange experiences, best practices, and innovative solutions aimed at addressing methane emissions in the oil and gas sector, as well as exploring new opportunities such as biomethane.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1391\" data-end=\"1415\"><strong data-start=\"1391\" data-end=\"1415\">The agenda includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1416\" data-end=\"1686\">\n<li data-start=\"1416\" data-end=\"1490\">Technical panels on regulation, financing, transparency, and technology.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1594\">Keynote presentations and sessions focused on translating methane commitments into effective actions.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1595\" data-end=\"1686\">Presentation of progress by OEMLAC and the Low-Emission Natural Gas Certification (GNBE).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1953\">This Second Summit reaffirms Latin America and the Caribbean as a region committed to fulfilling the <strong data-start=\"1789\" data-end=\"1808\">Paris Agreement<\/strong>, promoting technical and political dialogue on methane\u2014one of the most potent greenhouse gases with the highest short-term mitigation
