<\/p>\nThe Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), the Latin American Association for Sustainable Mobility (ALAMOS) and the Ecuadorian Association for Electric and Sustainable Mobility (ASECMOVEL) joined forces to hold the “Andean Route of Electric Vehicles” event and the “International Forum on Electric Mobility”.<\/p>\n
The Andean Electric Route is the result of collaboration between associations and organizations in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility in the three Andean countries. At the same time, during the journey of the electric vehicles through the city of Quito, the International Panel on Electric Mobility was held, which addressed various aspects related to electromobility in Ecuador, as well as an electric vehicle fair at OLACDE’s facilities.<\/p>\n
The event focused on showcasing the range of electric vehicles and charging systems, presenting technological advances, sharing existing charging infrastructure, analyzing the state of electric mobility in Ecuador, identifying opportunities and reviewing global and regional trends that can be applied in the Ecuadorian context.<\/p>\n

The panel, moderated by the President of ASECMOVEL, Dr. Esteban Albornoz Vintimilla,\u00a0 counted with the participation of:<\/p>\n
Andr\u00e9s Rebolledo, Executive Secretary of OLACDE, who shared his vision about the challenges of decarbonization in the transportation sector in Latin America and the Caribbean, the training of professionals in electromobility, experiences of electric transportation from the user’s point of view and the possible work space in terms of a regional goal for sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n
During his presentation, the Minister of Transportation and Public Works, C\u00e9sar Roh\u00f3n, said that we must promote electromobility projects through tourism, as well as to avoid pollution by promoting new innovative technologies.<\/p>\n
Lorena Sig\u00fcenza, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Cuenca, highlighted the importance of promoting the development of sustainable mobility and the benefits of electromobility for professionals in the academic sector.<\/p>\n
Silvia Rojas, President of the Latin American Association for Sustainable Mobility, highlighted the importance of electromobility and the comfort that electric vehicles generate for their users.<\/p>\n
Genaro Balde\u00f3n, President of the Association of Automotive Companies of Ecuador, who from his point of view of the business sector pointed out that we must meet the needs of society, supporting public policy related to electric and hybrid transportation.<\/p>\n
Finally, Dr. Esteban Albornoz, President of the\u00a0 Ecuadorian Association of Electric and Sustainable Mobility\u00a0 acknowledged that there are barriers to the popularization of electric mobility as an alternative to transportation with combustion vehicles.<\/p>\n

This event highlighted the importance of sustainable mobility, which has become an undisputed driver of change around the world, transforming the way we travel and opening a path towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. Progress and challenges that electromobility has experienced both globally and in Latin America and the Caribbean have been more than just trends, establishing themselves as an essential pillar in the construction of a cleaner and more efficient world.<\/p>\n
