Within the framework of the promotion of an energy integration policy, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in the exercise of its pro tempore presidency of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), promoted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between this institution and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).<\/p>\n
This document lays the foundations for joint cooperation in the field of hydrocarbons, between both agencies, for the exchange of information, experience and good practices, as well as other aspects of mutual interest. In turn, it will allow a more efficient and responsible use of our natural resources, promoting firmness, stability and balance in the different energy markets worldwide.<\/p>\n
This activity was led by the Executive Secretary of OLACDE, Andr\u00e9s Rebolledo, the Minister of People’s Power for Petroleum, Pedro Rafael Tellechea, who was accompanied by the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Yv\u00e1n Gil, to channel the efforts of the member countries towards the structuring of common agendas that have regional integration as the main axis of energy development.<\/p>\n
“From the signing of this document, both organizations will strengthen their bonds of brotherhood to underpin a solid cooperation that determines the sustained growth of both institutions, with the aim of consolidating joint actions in energy matters,” said Tellechea.<\/p>\n
For his part, Andr\u00e9s Rebolledo, executive secretary of OLACDE, thanked the Venezuelan authorities for their willingness to attend the working meetings held in the country, stressing that OLACDE will continue to promote joint energy cooperation that will extend beyond 2023.<\/p>\n
Then, Mohamed Hamel, secretary general of the GECF, stressed the importance of the role that Venezuela has been playing, allowing the signing of this memorandum through which “we have detected important areas of cooperation in the field of natural gas, a source of energy of utmost importance in the present and for the future.”<\/p>\n
