[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), in close collaboration with Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt- National Institute of Metrology of the Federal Republic of Germany (PTB), publishes and makes available to the energy sector community the position document: Quality Infrastructure for Energy Efficiency Programs in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n

The work reflects the result of 8 years of technical cooperation developed by PTB in the region, with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany and the collaboration of other counterparts in the region among which are : the Organization of American States (OAS); the Inter-American Metrology System (SIM); the Pan American Standards Commission (COPANT) and the Inter American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC).<\/p>\n

The document first describes the importance of energy policy in the context of climate change. Subsequently, the key elements for the conformity assessment are listed and the relevance of these elements for the energy efficiency programs is explained. Finally, the experiences of cooperation among project agents are summarized and the practical cases of implementation in some countries of our region are described.<\/p>\n

OLACDE seeks to establish this document as a reference for consultation, which contributes to promote among the actors of the energy sector, the consolidation of the Quality Infrastructure and facilitate a greater degree of coordination and integration on the subject among the countries of our region.<\/p>\n
