[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]37 participants completed the Executive Development Program for the Implementation of Climate Change Policies, which was developed under the coordination of OLACDE, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and with the collaboration of UNEP DTU. The closure of the program was carried out with the face-to-face workshop that took place in Santiago de Chile on November 5, 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Executive Development Program for the Implementation of Climate Change Policies aimed to strengthen theoretical and practical knowledge on climate change issues, linked to the energy sector for the development of energy project implementation capacities in the region. They were aligned with the political commitments acquired in the recent climate negotiations, in order to achieve sustainable energy development in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n

The inauguration event was attended by the head of the International Department of the Ministry of Energy, Paula Est\u00e9vez, representing OLACDE and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Lourdes Pillajo and Giovanni Burga, respectively, who all stressed the importance of these discussion spaces to enrich decision making and the definition of public policies at the regional level.<\/p>\n

At the workshop, on Thursday, November 8, participated the representatives of important Chilean institutions from the energy sector and agencies based in Chile; the Energy Sustainability Agency (ACEE); the Ministry of Energy; the Municipality of Santiago; the Ministries of Environment, Agriculture, Housing; representatives of GIZ and the University of Chile, assistants who shared their experiences in the implementation of NAMAs.<\/p>\n

The program began on July 31, 2018 under the virtual modality with the participation of high-level United Nations instructors for Climate Change, the UNEP DTU, the World Bank, the NDC Partnership and the OLACDE Consultants. The program culminated with this practical face-to-face workshop in which the participants worked on a NAMA country definition template.<\/p>\n

The program was attended by\u00a0 37 participants from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Uruguay, of which 22 participants were benefited with scholarships that made it possible for them to attend the face-to-face workshop.\u00a0 The results obtained from these training sessions will be valuable in order to ensure the transfer of knowledge in the participating countries.<\/p>\n
