[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In line with the publication \u201cFree and Informed Prior Consultation: Challenges to its Application in the Hydrocarbon Sector\u201d, which was published by OLACDE months ago, we now make available the document \u201cWhite Paper on Tripartite Dialogues\u201d.<\/p>\n

The content of this publication aims at understanding, systematizing and analyzing the nature of the tripartite dialogues and collecting the lessons learned in Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela within the framework of the Energy, Environment and Population Program (EAP).<\/p>\n

The tripartite dialogues were a mechanism implemented within the framework of the EAP, developed by OLACDE, whose objective was to strengthen the participation of government representatives who work closely with the Organization, representatives of oil companies, who are members of ARPEL (Regional Association of Oil, Gas and Biofuel Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean) and of Indigenous Peoples’ Organizations, grouped in COICA (the Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin).<\/p>\n

In these instances it was discussed the experience of each of the countries of the Amazon Basin in relation to the management of the environmental and social impacts of oil exploration and exploitation.<\/p>\n
