[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today, April 5, 2018 OLACDE through its Executive Secretary, Alfonso Blanco, signed an agreement with the Catholic University of Chile for the creation of the Latin American Energy Policy Program, which will begin on the second semester of 2018.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Catholic University of Chile, Maria Paulina Gomez Lorenzini, Vice-Rector of Communications, signed in the presence of the Minister of Energy of Chile, Susana Jimenez; the Dean of the School of Engineering, Juan Carlos de la Llera; \u00a0the president of Generadoras de Chile A.G., Claudio Seebach, the professor emeritus Hugh Rudnick, among other distinguished academics.<\/p>\n

The Executive Secretary, Alfonso Blanco, mentioned that “the objective is to advance in the regional energy transition, which involves incorporating new sources and business models based on private investment”.<\/p>\n

He also added that “OLACDE will contribute to the programme with an institutional framework that brings together the Ministries of Energy of the region, where we have experiences that can be shared”.<\/p>\n

For her part, the Minister of Energy of Chile, Susana Jim\u00e9nez, pointed out that “the regional training programme will bring to Chile the global energy debate and the development of cutting-edge topics; and will prepare professionals from our country and the region to contribute to the development of the energy sector in the global context”.<\/p>\n

The objective of the Program is to become a space for training, reflection and debate on public policies on energy; with independence and high levels of excellence to facilitate a sustainable transition to clean energies in Latin America.<\/p>\n

This academic module will offer the diploma programs and courses, both face-to-face and virtual, that the School of Engineering of the Catholic University of Chile offers in the field of energy policy.\u00a0 The following programs will be offered within the curricular network:<\/p>\n

-Professional Master’s Degree<\/p>\n

-Diploma in Renewable Energies.<\/p>\n

-Diploma in Access and Energy Equity.<\/p>\n

-Diploma in Electricity Markets.<\/p>\n

-Diploma in Energy Efficiency.<\/p>\n

-Course Transmission Network Planning.<\/p>\n

-Course on Energy Policy Design and Evaluation.<\/p>\n

-Course on Energy Poverty.<\/p>\n
