This study was carried out by OLACDE under the Cooperation Program with the Government of Canada for the Mining and Energy Planning Unit (UPME) of the Republic of Colombia, with the collaboration of Camilo Quintero Monta\u00f1o.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d;\">The study aims to analyze different scenarios of investment planning in generation, based on the expansion plans that UPME has developed, identifying possible financing schemes for the projects prioritized in the mentioned scenarios.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d;\">The process consisted of 3 phases, the first part consisted in analyzing the Generation &#8211; Transmission Reference Expansion Plan 2016 to 2030, where an economic assessment of the overall performance of the scenarios was carried out. In this part the 3 best Global performing scenarios were selected (priority scenarios). Subsequently, an assessment was made of the installation costs of each plant belonging to the prioritized scenarios.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d;\">The installed costs, costs of interconnection with the network and costs of reinforcements in the network were considered, in this way it was possible to elaborate a valued schedule of investments.
