Dear energy community;
\nIt is a pleasure for me to have this approach month by month with you and share with you the relevant aspects of our management that we have generated over this time. Especially in four important issues that were carried out at our headquarters in Quito-Ecuador during this month, an aspect that fills me with satisfaction, since now that the facilities where our Organization works are our own, we have managed to transform them into a meeting point of the delegations of our Region. In this sense, for us, it represents a regional fellowship space.<\/p>\n
In this last week we had the opportunity to hold a meeting with the diplomatic corps representing the Member Countries of the Organization, at which time we took the opportunity to inform the diplomatic delegations, the lines of work and activities for the benefit of the Member Countries, in order to be close to our Countries, and generate a two-way channel of communication with our Member Countries.<\/p>\n
On the same day we held the inauguration of the Regional Workshop on Energy Planning for Latin America and the Caribbean, where 23 delegations from Member Countries gathered, and for the first time we had the presence of representatives of Caribbean countries not members of OLACDE: Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda; and Saint Lucia, which brings us closer to our non-member Caribbean brothers, who extend ties for future incorporation.<\/p>\n
The message we conveyed at the workshop was that the energy sector is an engine of regional development, and that it is necessary to have a long-term strategic vision to move from government actions to state policies. In this sense, we have made 3 new publications available to you; the useful energy balance and energy statistics manuals. We are confident that this material will become a reference tool throughout our region.<\/p>\n
Within the same framework of visits by our delegations, we had the pleasure of receiving 22 representatives of the Member Countries at the XLVIII Council of Experts, which facilitated the analysis of significant draft ministerial decisions on key aspects for regional integration. We also reported on the progress of our management.<\/p>\n
