OLADE is an intergovernmental public body of technical cooperation and advisory constituted on November 2, 1973, through the signing of the Lima Agreement, ratified by 27 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, with the fundamental objective of fostering integration, development, conservation, rational use, commercialization and defense of the region's energy resources.
As an international organization subject to Public International Law, OLADE is endowed with a permanent institutional framework, integrated by other subjects of Public International Law and regulated for its operation by a set of its own rules established in an autonomous internal regulation.
Energy Statistics - OLADE (app) is an application designed to make available to the international community and the general public the official energy statistics provided by its 27 Member States from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), in compliance with the institutional objective aimed at "Promoting technical cooperation, exchange and dissemination of scientific, legal and contractual information among Member States and fostering the development and dissemination of technologies in energy-related activities"1.
This app has been developed by OLADE as an agile tool for consulting official energy statistics analyzed and classified as an input for diagnoses on the state of the energy sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Access to the Energy Statistics app implies (without reservation) the user's acceptance of compliance with the following terms of use.
The Energy Statistics app does not request any personal data from the user, therefore, it does not collect, store or process personal data. In this sense, it is not necessary to establish mechanisms or provisions for the protection of personal data.
OLADE allows the free use of the application for the sole purpose of guaranteeing the international community and the general public the visualization and analysis of energy statistics of Latin America and the Caribbean under the following conditions and restrictions:
Non-Commercial Use: The application is intended for non-commercial use, therefore, the sale, rental, duplication and use of the app and its content for profit, entertainment, commercial, advertising or any other action of a nature contrary to the institutional interests of OLADE and not permitted by the competent authority is not authorized.
Prohibitions: It is strictly forbidden to modify, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of the application, or alter the proper functioning of the application.
The conditions of access and use of this application are strictly governed by the International Treaties that regulate this matter as well as by legality and good faith, understood as fundamental principles of International Law, on the basis of which the user undertakes to maintain a good use of the app and its content; being thus prohibited all acts that violate the legality, rights or interests of both OLADE and its Member Countries such as data protection rights, intellectual property, etc.
Upon detection of any action that involves improper use of the application or contrary to the permitted informative and investigative purposes, OLADE will file the corresponding administrative and legal actions.
All content available in the Energy Statistics app, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and data compilations, are the intellectual property of OLADE.
The user accepts that to use or refer to the data obtained from the Energy Statistics app, they must cite OLADE as the generating source of the information.
The information and data provided by the Energy Statistics app are based on official information obtained from public sources of OLADE Member States, therefore OLADE disclaims any responsibility related to the accuracy or timeliness of the data contained in the app.
With this background, OLADE expressly states the full responsibility of the user in relation to the use they make of the data accessible in the app, which they must do at their own risk and without guarantees, taking the necessary precautions before making decisions based on the information obtained from the app.
OLADE reiterates that both the application and its content provide data of a purely informative nature that in no case constitute professional advice of any kind or technical, financial, commercial or legal advice. OLADE is not responsible for any decision or action taken on the basis of the information obtained through the application and does not guarantee that the application is totally free of errors, interruptions, nor that the data is totally accurate, or permanently complete or up to date.
The use of the application is under the risk and responsibility of the user.
OLADE reserves the right to modify or interrupt, temporarily or permanently, the application in its entirety or any part thereof, with or without prior notice. Likewise, OLADE may modify this document at any time, making these modifications effective at the time of publication. It is the user's responsibility to periodically review the updated terms of use.
