The situation of energy efficiency in the region was discussed at the Regional Meeting: Advances in sustainable energy and its NEXES: Water – Mining – Energy

The Executive Secretary of the Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), Alfonso Blanco, participated in the Regional Meeting: Advances in sustainable energy and its NEXES: Water – Mining – Energy, through a presentation on the situation of energy efficiency in the region. This event, which took place on May 28 in the city of Panama, was organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) of the United Nations (UN), together with the National Energy Secretariat of the Government of the Republic of Panama and the Agency for the Environment and the Energy Matrix of the French Republic.

Subsequently, from May 29 to 31, the indicator training was conducted to monitor the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda (SDG7), objectives set by the United Nations, at which the Director of Projects and Information Studies of Olade, Andrés Schuschny, presented the details related to the energy information systems of the Organization, as well as the progress made in the methodological development of the harmonization of energy statistics and a proposal for the compilation of indicators of access to energy, with a focus on social inequality and gender.

These activities are part of the project; Regional Observatory on Sustainable Energies (ROSE) that ECLAC develops.
