The Energy Matrix Simulation and Analysis Model -SAME- was presented in Guatemala.

The “Energy sector Information Forecasting Workshop” was held in Guatemala City, on September 12 and 13, 2018,. It was organized by Olade, ECLAC and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Guatemala (MEM) with the support of the IDB.

The scope of this workshop was to present the Simulation and Analysis Model of the Energy Matrix (Same) in a forecasting exercise applied to Guatemala, based on its National Expansion Plan 2018-2032 and the presentation of the Standardized Information Methodology and the National Energy Balance (BEN). The presentations were given by Olade’s technicians, Fabio García and David Delgado.

At the inauguration, Alberto Levy, representing the IDB, highlighted the importance of proper management of energy information in countries, as an input for energy planning and forecasting. He also congratulated Olade for its initiatives to improve the capacities of its Member Countries on these issues.

For his part, Hugo Ventura, from ECLAC, recommended taking advantage of tools such as the Olade’s SAME Model available for sector forecasting.

Luis Lepe, representing the MEM, expressed his gratitude for the joint efforts of the three organizations in the development of the workshop.
