Regional Ambassadors and Authorities attended Conference on the Malvinas Islands held at OLADE’s headquarters.

16 Embassies in the region attended the event

Ambassadors and Representatives of the countries of the Region gathered at the premises of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) last Thursday, October 1st, to participate in the Conference on "Oil in the Malvinas, Recent Developments". With the support of the Ministry in charge of matters relating to the Malvinas Islands, the conference was conducted by Daniel Filmus, Minister of State for Business Relating to the Malvinas Islands, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands and the Surrounding Maritime Areas.

The Presiding Board was composed by the Abbassador of the Republic of Argentina Alberto Alvarez Tufillo, the Minister of Hydrocarbons of Argentina Enrique Carlos Catella and the Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons of Ecuador, Ernesto Grijalva. On behalf of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), the meeting was attended by the Executive Secretary, Fernando César Ferreira and the Director of Integration Lennys Rivera.

In his opening remarks, the Executive Secretary of OLADE took the opportunity to invite the delegations of the countries to participate in the "XLV Meeting of Ministers" of OLADE to be held on October 30th in Tarija, Bolivia. He stressed the relevance of the presence of the Ministers at "the most important Regional Energy meeting of the year."

This meeting has been welcomed by President Evo Morales, who made an official call to the countries last August at the launch of the official meetings of OLADE in Tarija.
