President Evo Morales participates at the launch of the XLV Meeting of Energy Ministers of Olade

President Evo Morales, together with Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Luis Alberto Sanchez and the Executive Secretary of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) Fernando César Ferreira officially launched the XLV Meeting of Energy Ministers at the Los Parrales hotel. “It is a very important international meeting, in which hopefully the 27 Member Countries could participate to discuss energy issues. The meeting will be an important platform to share our experiences. After collecting information about OLADE, we believe it is important to promote policies, programs and projects so energy is always present, "said the president.

For his part, Minister Sanchez said that “this meeting will help to know about the experiences of different countries with the support of OLADE, but also to share experiences of this economic model that has been born from the nationalization of hydrocarbons and electricity, which has improved the quality of life for all Bolivians.”

OLADE's meeting will be held in Tarija on October 26th to 30th at the Los Parrales Hotel. It is organized by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and OLADE, sponsored by YPFB Corporation, the National Electricity Company (ENDE ), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the CAF.

At the launching ceremony, the head of State called on the authorities of Tarija to start working on the corresponding arrangements to welcome all the Ministers attending the international meeting of energy.

“It is a great honor to be with the President and to launch the XLV Latin American Energy Ministers Meeting at Tarija that will be attended by 27 representatives. We will discuss about the sources of energy development, how to improve energy efficiency, how we integrate energy, how we fund all energy integration projects, "said Minister Luis Alberto Sanchez.

For his part, Secretary General of OLADE Cesar Fernando Ferreira, said: “the priority is energy integration, which is a process that must be work on at all times and integration will bring energy from countries with sources and resources to other countries that do not have access to it.”

"The Bolivian State, through the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy, decided to hold this important event in the city of Tarija since it is the Department with the highest oil production and its important role in the energy sector,” noted Minister Luis Alberto Sánchez.

During the launching event at the Los Parrales Hotel, the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy presented the poster and spot to promote the XLV Meeting of OLADE.

According to the agenda, the Meeting will begin on Monday October 26 with the Meeting No. 85 of the Directive Committee (CODI). On Tuesday 27, it will be carried out the XLV Meeting of the Council of Experts which will address proposals for energy integration in Latin America and the Caribbean. On Wednesday Thursday 28, October 29, it was programmed the Regional Energy Integration Forum (FIER). On Thursday afternoon the delegations will visit the city of Yacuiba, in the Gran Chaco province to visit the "Carlos Villegas" liquids separation plant. Finally, on Friday October 30, it will take place the XLV Meeting of Ministers of OLADE.
