Olade took part in the workshop “Implementing Energy Efficiency in Industry through Energy Service Providers”.
On July 19, 2018, Olade, in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy of Ecuador, held a workshop on “Implementation of Energy Efficiency in Industry through Energy Service Providers”, in which regional experiences in the development of service companies in the energy sector were presented.
The event, which was attended by 60 people. It was aimed at encouraging the adoption of appropriate measures to reduce energy consumption in the Ecuadorian industry through energy efficiency instruments.
At this meeting, the Executive Secretary of Olade, Alfonso Blanco, presented the subject “Energy Service Companies and Financing of Energy Efficiency – Forecast for the Region”. In his presentation he also spoke about his experience in the development of EPS markets in Uruguay.
This meeting was also attended by the Vice-Minister of Energy and the Undersecretary of Energy Efficiency of Ecuador, as well as representatives of public and private institutions, international cooperation, industries, consultants related to the energy sector, public and private banking.
The participants had the opportunity to share their experiences, expectations and concerns regarding the development of a market for energy service providers in Ecuador.
