OLADE prepares its 45th Meeting of Latin American Eergy Ministers

The Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) announced the development of its 45th Meeting of Energy Ministers of the region to be held in the Bolivian city of Tarija, on October 30th which will be supported by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons of that country as well as by multilateral agencies such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and CAF Development Bank of Latin America.

This meeting is also sponsored by State-owned enterprises from that nation such as Bolivian Fiscal Oilfields (YPFB) and the National Electricity Company (ENDE).

"It is a very important international meeting, in which hopefully, the 27 Member Countries could participate to discuss energy issues" said Bolivian President, Evo Morales. "This event is the appropriate arena to share our experinces; after collecting information about OLADE, we believe it is important to promote policies, programs and projects so energy is always present, "said the president.

In the press release issued by the organization, it was indicated that one of the main objectives will be to define joint projects in the region as well as fundraising.
"The priority is energy integration, which is a process that must be work on at all times, and integration will bring energy from countries with sources and resources to other countries that do not have access to it" were the remarks made by Fernando Cesar Ferreira, OLADE's Executive Secretary.
