OLADE participated in the formation of the Interagency Group on Gender and Energy Statistics (GIEGE)

OLADE participated in Mexico City on June 16, 2017, during a meeting where the formation of the Interagency Group on Gender and Energy Statistics (GIEGE) was promoted, with the intention of continuing to support the generation of indicators which measure the access and consumption of differentiated energy by men and women in the energy balance of the countries of the Region.

The meeting was also attended by Mexico’s SENER Secretariat of Energy, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico (INEGI), and the Open and Distance from Mexico (UNADM).

The group that created the Inter-institutional Gender and Energy Statistics – GIEGE will be invited to participate at a regional level to the Statistical Organizations of the -ONE’s countries and to the Mechanisms of Women in each country.

On December, OLADE will hold a “Regional Meeting of Gender and Energy Statistics in national projects and statistics”, to present the progress in this topic.
