OLADE IS PART OF THE TRAINING WORKSHOP ON GENDER AND ENERGY IN URUGUAY

The Training/Workshop: “Gender mainstreaming tools in policies and projects in the energy sector and climate change in Uruguay” Training Manual on Gender and Energy - practical experiences was held in Montevideo Uruguay on May 19th to 21st, with the support of the Biovalor Project.

The event was attended by 24 participants, 4 men and 20 women of the following entities: National Energy Department, National Directorate of Environment, Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining, Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries, UTE (State Enterprise of Generation and Distribution of Electricity), Biovalor project team, Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences-FLACSO, National Institute of Colonization, Basket Services Program.

The workshop provided methodological and conceptual tools to mainstream gender equality in projects and processes of energy and related institutions working with the sector. The process generated great interest and participation willingness by the entities as well as a high commitment to continue this task.
