OLADE and the General Secretariat of the OAS, represented by their highest authorities, Alfonso Blanco and Luis Almagro respectively, signed an agreement that formalized the establishment of a regulatory framework for joint collaboration as the grounding for the development of coordinated activities, with an emphasis on the promotion and strengthening of energy development, and regional integration linked to energy. This agreement is carried out between the two parties, aware of the fundamental role of energy in consolidating regional integration, as well as its direct impact on industrialization and the improvement of the human development index.
The signing of the agreement was held within the framework of the III Ministerial Meeting of the Energy and Climate Alliance of the Americas (ECPA), in Viña del Mar, Chile, an event that took place on September 7th, and 8th. 2017
