THE FORMER MINISTER OF HYDROCARBONS OF BOLIVIA TOOK OFFICE AS THE HYDROCARBONS COORDINATOR OF OLADE

durante el acto de posesión.. Mr. Mauricio Medinaceli Monrroy, economist and the former Minister of Hydrocarbons of Bolivia, took office as the Hydrocarbons Coordinator of OLADE on March 25, 2008.
The ceremony took place at the Headquarters of the Organization in the presence of the Ambassador of Bolivia, Mr. Juan Zárate, the Executive Secretary of OLADE, Mr. Carlos Arturo Flórez Piedrahita, the Directors, Coordinators and staff of the Organization.
The oath of office was administered by the Executive Secretary of OLADE, who congratulated the new Hydrocarbons Coordinator and highlighted the importance of expanding OLADE’s working group with professionals who possess excellent career paths and experience in the energy field so that all together work to achieve Regional and Sub-regional energy integration.
In turn, Mr. Medinaceli, expressed that “integration is not an isolated and abstract concept recently created, on the contrary, it is a focus on the survival of mankind for quite some time.For this reason, I understand that OLADE reflects the wish of many people willing to have a better life and live in peace with their neighbours.”
Mr. Mauricio Medinaceli Monrroy was the Minister of Hydrocarbons of Bolivia. He has a Masters in Economy and has been in charge of directive and advisory positions in public and private enterprises as well as international entities such as Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB, Bolivian Fiscal Petroleum Deposits), la Cámara Boliviana de Hidrocarburos (Bolivian Chamber of Hydrocarbons), CAF (Andean Development Corporation), the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), among others. He is also a prestigious university professor and author of books and articles on energy.
