MINISTERS OF AFRICA, LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN WILL MEET IN AFROLAC II

The Ministers of Energy of 26 Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean making up the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) and the Ministers of 52 Countries of the African Continent have been invited to participate in AFROLAC II, which will be held in Cancun, Mexico, on April 3, 2008

AFROLAC II, organized by OLADE, AFREC and the Energy Secretariat of Mexico, is a Ministerial Dialogue Forum that aims to promote cooperation and the exchange of ideas about the current challenges of the energy sector in both continents.

During this event, the Ministers will discuss about the challenges and opportunities in the energy sector of both Continents. They will also discuss the role of the different sub-sectors in energy access and security.

Simultaneously to the Conference, an exhibition of different participants in the energy industry will be organized.

The result of this meeting will be presented in the Declaration of Cacun.
